Project: New Raw Mill
Client: Illinois Cement

Artisan Contracting assembled and installed this new 225-short-tons Loesche Roller Mill with 1800-mm rolls and a design output of 5200 short tons per day. A unique characteristic of this installation was the fact that it had to be assembled in an adjacent alleyway and the foundations under the existing raw mill modified as much as possible prior to the scheduled plant shutdown. During this shutdown, the existing mill was removed, foundation and structural modifications were completed, and the new mill was moved into its final position. The drive motors were then installed and all the necessary piping, ducts and electrical components were tied in. The installation was a success for both Artisan Contracting and the owner due to critical scheduling and coordination efforts.
